I wonder what its like to be beaten by the quality of stage mom that will sell you off to Disney for a tuppance and a song for the first portion of your life. Slutted up by execs before your hormones even settled into a personality and spend the second third of your life being attacked by cameras constantly.

In seriousness, Britney's story is a really sad story. I feel very bad for her, and the ferocious media coverage of her just sickens me. I don't think she had a chance.

I think part of the problem is that someone who is young, with ten million dollars, and a lifetime of being a rockstar, doesn't have much capacity to either anticipate or cope with failure. The combination of losing a custody battle and having the general public consider her a complete whackjob, seems likely to result in thrashing behavior: when your only tool is a hammer...
