If randomdreams wasn't around to keep me in check, I would be Britney Spears. Without the kids or money. All drunk driving, attacking people with umbrellas, unprotected sex, stupid accents and no pants. It's true.

I feel for her too, although a lot her recent media troubles have been of her own making.

I wish she would wise up and realize the Virgin Harlot shtick just doesn't work after one ceases to be, you know, an actual virgin.

I think part of the problem is that someone who is young, with ten million dollars, and a lifetime of being a rockstar, doesn't have much capacity to either anticipate or cope with failure. The combination of losing a custody battle and having the general public consider her a complete whackjob, seems likely to result in thrashing behavior: when your only tool is a hammer...
