Last night was supposed to be The Climax Lounge's 40th Anniversary. We showed up at 10 p.m. expecting horrible bands, pitchers of vodka red bull, cockroaches, and pinball. There was none of that, the doors were closed.

We went over to the Mercury to plot and to wait for

arendal. We obnoxiously drank our overpriced alcohol. We ran into one of Little Brian's old flames. She was wearing a white kimono and doing poetry. We decided to go over to The Rockaway, the new dive/tiki bar that took over The Triangle.

No tiki, no leather, no HEP C signs in the bathroom. But there was ScreamCore, stiff drinks, and the Misfits on the jukebox. Deep conversations with

arendal. And I asked one of Little Brian's friends why he left the house wearing girl's pajamas. I think this was probably rude of me.

At home I lost my tampon. Well, I knew where it was, it was just not coming out. I tried. I woke John up at 3 a.m. for help. He tried. We pondered finding the speculum. I wished a certain smaller fingered friend was available. I got in the shower, relaxed, and worked it out, but it took 20 minutes.
