I sanded, washed, and painted 3 coats on each side of a Besta shelf and 3 Billys.
That, is 12 hours of work. I know in other parts of the world you can probably not get a coat of paint to dry in 10 minutes, but I was in the sun. Case in point: I have drank 3 pitchers of lemon water and have only peed once today. It was a very small pee.

Another "Oh God This Shelving Project is DOOMED! DOOMED!" moment: When you paint Ikea shelves, they warp.

2 more Billys to go. One shelf has a buster corner, which randomdreams says he can repair.

AND the library featured in the month's Martha Stewart Living Magazine is the same color as my library. Obsessive minds think alike?

I made Panzanella and fruit salad for dinner. Salads from 2 bowls.
It was so very good for one of those "hmmm the bread, tomatoes, and strawberries must be used NOW..." evenings.

When randomdreams got home he put The Best of Gary Glitter (it's a 2 CD set!) on the stereo and put together the Besta. I provided puppy help and asked if he wanted to be in my gang (he does).

I thought the whole deal with IKEA is that it's cheap, disposable crap that doesn't last, but looks nice in the short run.

My Expedit was a giant pain to put together. I realized once it was ALL UP that i really would rather have it in black/brown -_-. Then I thought of your refinishing attempts. It's going to stay beech finish.
