John is sick, he has a cold. He is adorably sleepy.

This morning after suggesting that we should go to the plant store John said, "Then! This afternoon! We could go for a bike ride!"
".... Let's see if you make it through the plant store first eh?"

He made it 3/4 of the way through the plant store and abandoned helping me look for a peach tree for my dad.
Then he napped all afternoon.

I spent 3 hours gardening. I'm a bit under the weather myself, so it was slow going planting more tomato plants. Weeding was not too bad. The arugula has already gone to seed. I put in a few summer bulbs. I put gladiolas in compost around the baby apple tree because it will look wonderful mid-summer.

I re-organized the deep freezer. It looks like once a week we need to have a chicken night, and one night needs to be a pumpkin night. Chicken and/or pumpkin recipes wanted!

I re-organized the pantry. I cannot fathom how there was an 11-year-old can of cream of celery soup. I went through the whole pantry last year, and there's no way I could have missed it since we repainted it.

Ever had coconut mango rice pudding? I think I'll make it with my leftover black rice tonight. EEEEE!

Are you gardening this year?

Somewhat. I have all but killed all the pumpkins again, but I have some tomatoes and some basil and, of course, peas. Nothing else really grows given how many dogs we have and how little sun we have. :/

I didn't know you have dogs.

Oh. I don't. The world has dogs and they walk them by my house often. Which is fine, we like visiting with them. But often the dogs get a little over-excited about bushes and peeing in them or walking on them and so on, so not much tends to make it. I tried putting up fences, and caution tape and even pinwheels. It's doomed. I would need quite a lot of effort to put into the yard to really garden properly and I don't own the place so it's hard to justify.
