Jeff signed up to play a gig at a hippy venue to get some gas money to go home. "It'll probably be some hippy band you'll hate, but please come and see me anyway." I was loafing in my hoodie almost ready to go when Jeff called, "There are no hippy bands here!"
"What?"
"It's My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Lords of Acid* and you're on the list."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

I raced around finding something appropriate to wear. Red Leather skirt, Roberto Cavalli hand beaded roses corset.

Quixote's has 3 stages. The outside stage had Blues (Jeff), the main stage had Industrial. Jeff played really early and did quite well. We moved inside to see 2 opening bands. Torso (ok) and Bahntier. Bahntier was so awesome, a most excellent live band. I haven't danced that hard in years.

My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult was alright. Frankie is a bit... um... he tries. I've seen awesome older guys (Cramps, Leonard Cohen) rock the house, and I've seen guys that just don't have it anymore (Danzig). Frankie tried, his musicians were damn good but he's past it.
Bahntier played so hard, TKK just go left behind.

*Lord knows where Lords of Acid ended up. We left at 1:30 and there was no sign of them.

TKK has been sub-par for a number of years now. Good effort, but his voice just doesn't have what it takes any more.

Didn't know that Danzig's not up to it anymore, either, but I guess I can't say I'm really all that surprised.

I didn't see you there, but LOL - I met Jeff randomly earlier in the night. I thought TKK was awesome, but I'd never seen them before so I had no comparison. I'd heard Lords were supposed to be there, but it seems I was misinformed. Sounds like it's my fault you were misinformed too, because I told Jeff that earlier in the night. Small world.

No, I'd heard from elsewhere about LoA.

Sorry I missed you!
