I have something wrong with me that makes my body hurt most of the time, it gets worse when I get cold. I have gotten MUCH better since I no longer do manual labor.
I have been thinking of ways to exercise in the winter. I'm not into gyms. Swimming sounds nice but even the indoor pools are too cold. I did some research and found a Warm Water Therapy Pool run by the Easter Seals about 6 miles South of my house. Anyone can go. They have classes and open pool times. $9 drop in, or you can get a punch card, or a membership. I'm going over tomorrow to see how it looks. I can order private lessons quite reasonably and I can polish up my strokes quickly, hopefully they'll have times for lap swimming.

A most excellent idea.

Any testings done for fibro, at all?

I knew you'd like this idea! Especially since I'm not fond of yoga.

I don't have any fibro symptoms. I don't have the specific 18 tender points, lack of sleep, IBS, brain fog, or depression.

My hands, feet and mid-arms ache. When I'm cold I get a dull whole body ache, like when you get the flu. Everything gets much better when I am well exercised and warm (and not hauling buckets all day).

I did not hurt at all in Hawaii. (not entirely true, Pele bashed my knees up, BTW I can no longer feel her grit in my knee, and it's feeling better)

lack of sleep

*puzzled* I thought you had insomnia issues . . .

What she has is thinking-too-hard issues. She falls asleep at a moment's notice, sometimes in the middle of a conversation, except for when she's sitting there at 2 AM thinking about how she's going to attach 10,000 boingy springs to the living room ceiling and put a glowing eyeball on the end of each one and it's going to look so cool she can't wait until tomorrow to start making it.

This happens pretty often too.

Nope. I currently get 7-8h. For many years there it was 5-6h. Not due to insomnia, I just didn't need that much sleep. And there were so many fun things to do!

I love swimming. Our dream house has a full indoor/outdoor heated pool in the back.

Do you swim anywhere currently?

No, fat hairy guys aren't allowed to swim in public pools.

Not true at all. You missed the party at the YMCA. Bear central. Zane had a membership for a few years and I'd splash around on a visitor pass.

Do you know Schmid-E's ex-wife? I believe this is the pool she swims at for fibro therapy. She could tell you more about the facilities.

Quite well actually, I run into her at the grocery store all the time.

I will, thank you!
