I roasted a goose! It was darn tasty. Not worth the expense, but I'm glad I did it as it was a new experience for all.
Geese have a strange bone structure making a novice smooth carving impossible. Served with plum sauce and kumquat hibiscus chutney.
I've made pumpkin souffle MANY times, and it has always worked. Except for today. It neither rose nor set. The goo was yummy.
(From Brennan's New Orleans: pureed pumpkin, sugar, butter, eggs, milk, nutmeg, allspice, salt)
This was my third time with this pineapple bread, which is so very tasty and easy: http://baking.about.com/od/muffins/r/pineapple.htm
(it makes one loaf not two!)
I tossed a chopped fennel bulb, turnip, and some carrots in olive oil, balsamic, and S&P. Roasted it for about an hour. Delish.
I adapted this Cranberry Cobbler recipe to include 2 persimmons. I think everyone liked it because by the time I served my own cobbler last, all plates were licked clean. http://www.oprah.com/food/Cranberry-Cobbler
