We got up damn early this morning for...VELOSWAP!
Veloswap is the world's largest bicycle swap meet. We had a loooong shopping list.
The vibe was a bit more down-tempo this year, I blame the economy, but a Metallica concert is still a Metallica concert, and beautiful bikes still got bought and sold. (I was really amazed that my 25ish year old bike STILL goes for $660)
I found a really awesome helmet (yes it is!), and a bunch of socks for me and
ziptie,
unfortunately I found nothing really strange coming out the product development departments of Rudy Project Sunglasses or Merrell's shoes and clothes. And only 1 recumbent in the whole shebang.
I was tired by 10 a.m.
Round two: The Jefferson County Used Book sale
paperbacks $1, hardbacks $2.
Normally, we end up with four big boxes of books to haul out, around $100 worth. This year we didn't fill one whole one. The smut, art, comic book, and science books were low this year, more fiction around, I blame the economy. I found a few cookbooks.
Really at the end of the day we felt sort of let down that while our yearly "Christmas" was not a total flop, we were unsatisfied. Hence the exploration of a new cheesecake store near our house called, "Cheesecake Therapy." Yes, they had >20 cheesecakes, and 10ish tasty ice creams, and tea. It was not completely amazing cheesecake, but we'd go back for ice cream and tea and cuteness. Then a nap.
