My family came over for brunch today. Go with comfort food.

I threw 3.5 lbs of buffalo roast and a ton of Jerk seasoning into the crock pot last night. 12 hours.

I wanted to make a chocolate Mousse cake. The pint of cream I bought was somehow missing from the fridge. Crud. I have no cream... fresh fruit.. or even Jello. I have ice cream. I have A LOT of ice cream. Remembering a tasty-yet-very-Ladies-Home-Journal ice cream idea a friend of mine once served, I fished some coffee Annie's Cookies out of the pantry. Make a cookie crust in the springform pan. I find 1 pint coconut gelato, 1 pint Ghana dark chocolate ice cream, 1/2 pint homemade mystery dark chocolate walnut?, 1/2 pint someother dark chocolate. I have almond slices, I have shaved coconut. Soften ice cream. Layer over crust 1 pt dark chocolate ice cream, then almonds, then coconut gelato, then dark chocolate again. Top with a ton of coconut flakes. Into the deep freeze over night. Almond Joy Ice Cream Pie.

I steamed veggies (carrot, broccoli, zukes, green pepper) in Mirin, Lemon juice and black pepper.

Mashed tatoes, gravy.

Prosecco Mimosas.

Hatch green chili corn bread.

It was really great! No yelling at each other. Dad mostly participated.

The Almond Joy Ice Cream Pie was so good, dad didn't believe I made it.

Bryce has a job at a liquor store and brought a magnum of reasonable Chardonnay. We sat in my ad hoc wine cellar and discussed a few wines.
