Today Pirate went in for surgery.
The abscess was very deep, and required making another hole in his hip to get at it from another angle.
He came out alive, alert, and in Gir's opinion, dirty. He's full of stitches, gauze, Karo syrup (seriously, it's an antibiotic !! the little guy's wound is pumped full of the stuff), and his fur is shaved funny.
He's eating and affectionate. All for less money than my last trip to Nordstrom's Rack cost. I'm so grateful for this wonderful vet.
algol and [Unknown site tag] showed up for dinner right as I got home. They patiently waited hours nibbling cheese and fruit and drinking champagne while I made two types of soup, bread, grilled cheese and a peach clafoutis.
The tomato soup I've been waiting years to make was fantastic, even if a bit spicy, as most of my food is anyway.

Date: 2008-08-17 11:07 pm (UTC)It is dangerous to separate a bonded pair of rabbits. They pine away without one another. So when one needs to go to the vet, they both go.
The vet said that Gir spent most of her time at the vet cleaning Pirate's face.
The both have LJ's, but don't post often.
I should post for both of them.... maybe John remembers their passwords.

My dogs have their own journals too, but Ozzi hasn't posted in years, and Ziggy's never posted at all.
