I tried really hard to read fiction and fiction by women.
Favorite books:
Eutopia: A Novel of Terrible Optimism by David Nickle (I recommend this to anyone who likes scary stories)
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. (also the others in this series)
Building Stories by Chris Ware (sad)
Special Exits by Joyce Farmer (sad)
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz (really sweet)
PlyDesign: 73 Distinctive DIY Projects in Plywood by Philip Schmidt (I haven't the time!)
The Arctic Marauder by Jacques Tardi (Ooooo!)
Small Spaces, Beautiful Kitchens by Tara McLellan (boat kitchen!)
Temperance by Cathy Malkasian (really awesome)
China Contemporary by Michael Freeman (mindblowing style and design)
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Why Are Faggots So Afraid of Faggots?: Flaming Challenges to Masculinity, Objectification, and the Desire to Conform by Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore (I did a lot of thinking while reading this one)
Three Messages and a Warning: Contemporary Mexican Short Stories of the Fantastic by Eduardo Jimenez Mayo
Habibi by Craig Thompson (WOW!)
At Home: A Short History of Private Life by Bill Bryson
(insert some books on interior design, MBAs, running a business, plants, and cooking)
