The Fort Cookbook
Friday, January 21st, 2011 02:42 pmThe Fort is one of Denver's greatest restaurants. You can eat rattlesnake and yak and green chili ice cream IN A FORT with a view of the whole city! It's expensive, damn expensive, but you don't leave hungry and everyone has a wonderful time. I've been there 3 times ever and it usually costs ~$100 a person. There's usually some good coupons or deals on their website though. http://www.thefort.com/
They recently released a cookbook divulging most of their secrets, Shinin' Times at The Fort." (No, I don't think it has anything to do with Shining Time Station). I picked it up because I had a gift card. Like the restaurant, the book is damn expensive. It's not as bad on Amazon, and Amazon says they have the previous Fort book for $3, I'll have to order that one.
randomdreams recently lamented that my getting a job means he'll no longer come home to a 3 course meal. Since this might be my last weekday free for awhile I'm cracking open my new book.
Fort Green Salad with Damiana Vinaigrette (nudge wink wink)
Herb Bread
Cha Cha Murphys (twice-baked potatoes)
Buffalo BBQ Ribs (I have Johnnie Walker Green, Not Jack Daniels)
Grilled Banana
Grilled Asparagus (not from the book, but the grill is on)
(I still have Red Velvet Cupcakes)
