(no subject)

One of the places I water is an Arborium, sometimes there are catered events, yoga classes, people mulling about, but usually, it is empty. Today a woman was sitting on a bench next to the spigot. I walked by and she said, "hello." I returned the pleasantry and filled my buckets. As I was filling the buckets I noticed she was homeless, eating tons of candy, not smelly, and probably in need of head meds. The Classifieds were at her feet and things had been circled. I go upstairs to water a few plants and check my wallet. I have $5 that belongs to my boss, and $7 in ones of my own. I put $5 in my apron. As I fill my buckets to leave, she is distracted by someone walking in and I slip the $5 onto the bench near her.

Back at the office, my paycheck reveals I've earned a raise, an extra $320 a month, a fairly astonishing number in this economy. Either we've won a BIG new account, I've bagged us a BIG new account (no?), or I'm getting more work piled on!
