One of the discussions in class today was, "You are an astronaut and have crash-landed on the moon. You have salvaged these items from the crash and need to make a 200 mile trek to the mother ship. List items in order of importance.
So this woman in her forties discusses her list of choices, "It'll get cold on the moon so we need the matches to make a fire, and the life raft to build a shelter from the storms, and the compass to lead us to the mother ship."

I shit you not.

I spent a LOT of time in class "educating."

"How do YOU know there's no weather on the moon? Have YOU ever been there? I've read all these science fiction books that talk about moon storms."
*clutches head*

Anyway. Let's say I decide to get my MA. Where should I go? I'm already in an accelerated program in a "difficult" school, taking a double load this semester and maintaining a 4.0 and working a 40 hour work week. I am so not being challenged mentally, and I'm not even that smart. Like I can't build LASERS or robots or shit. But I know that matches won't work on the moon. Maybe Mines will have some odd program I can join, I hear they kill you with all the smarts they make you have.
