Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen. This was very cute and a light read.

Delancey: A Man, a Woman, a Restaurant, a Marriage. Meh. I'd go there next time I'm in Seattle though.

The Empathy Exams: Essays. WOW. Some books find you at the right time in life. I'm sure sometimes I'd dislike it but right now I have so many feels. [livejournal.com profile] randomdreams and I have bets out as to who would finish The Barkley Marathons [livejournal.com profile] skazat or [livejournal.com profile] project_mayhem_. Opinions gentlemen?

To Rise Again at a Decent Hour. I really liked this. Floss your teeth. What do you do with your life when you are already doing good for the world and you've already bought all the things?

The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness. What. you can skip this.

Empress Dowager Cixi: The Concubine Who Launched Modern China. This book should be longer!

One Rainy Day in May (The Familiar #1). This is an interesting piece of art.

Holy crap, the Barkley Marathons. That sounds horrible! I hadn't even heard of it but now I want to go watch that documentary.

"Empress Dowager Cixi" has been on my to-read list for a bit, but I've been waiting to get it on ebook so I don't have to carry around a tome. (Right now I have 340280489042 heavy paper books and 5 ebooks, heh. When I get home I am going to have to embark on an orgy of paper book reading.)

I want to watch the documentary too!

Ug, it would be a great ebook. It's heavy!

I have a few ebooks and many many physical books to read at this point, argh. Good thing I'll be home for a while after next week. I have a giant Landmark Xenophon calling my name. Probably ~30 physical paper books. Arrrgh. It's a good problem to have but it is definitely a thing to tackle.

I just started "The Octopus Scientists" by the same author, and it might be the good-parts version, 80 pages with many photos. And limited to one octopus species being studied by one team, part of the Scientists in the Field series.

The Barkley Marathons are a giant, steaming pile of fuckabunchathat. I could see doing the distance, but it's the gain that's the killer.
