Some Books of July

Make Something Up: Stories You Can't Unread by Chuck Palahniuk. Mostly good, old-fashioned Chuck.

Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman. I was not triggered, thus disappointed. A few good ones.

Overwhelmed: Work, Love, and Play When No One Has the Time. I liked the studies and research but the tone of "people who aren't parents aren't actually busy" is insulting.

-------------

Belzhar had much more wrong it with than right.

Wolf in White Van. You know what, I hate John Hodgman. I'm not fond of The Mountain Goats. There was some great writing here but the story just fell flat. And if you have John Hodgman blurb your book I'm going to skip it.

Migraine by Oliver Sacks. In which we continue to cherish Oliver during his last breaths.

Every Day Is for the Thief. Hrm.

Belzhar has faded from my memory. The only note I made about it was "foreshadowing was about right." :\

That's exactly what I thought!

If I see another blurry photo of a concert by one of you non-parents taken at 11pm, I am going to slap one of you very busy people.

I don't know why parents think kids are time consuming, just give them an ipad and juice box and your good for hours.
