I'm only sort of low on books now. Suggestions please!

Oliver Sack's Hallucinations was really good.
Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #2) was MUCH better than the first one. [livejournal.com profile] gows would like these.

I think Mary Roach's Gulp is up next.

oo!

Partway through /Gulp/, m'self. Tried to put it down the other night and got sucked into a chapter later in the book. Tried to put it down again and got sucked into one midway through.

She's an awesome lady. I got a half-dozen of her cell phone bags. *grin*

Downside series by Stacia Kane is my current favorite. It's got a church that is not a church, church witches, drug lords, junkie heroines, black magic, vomit inducing descriptions.
it's very much not YA tho.

Oh! and it has it's very own crazy slang. it's like a cross between old English & street slang. reading it is really fun for dorks, like me.

How much better is Days of Blood & Starlight? Because the ending of Daughter of Smoke and Bone made me want to fling the book through the window and punch the author, which is not a reaction I have very often.

I had the same reaction. I really enjoyed the second one.
