5280 Week (Denver Restaurant Week)

Personal 5280 Week Rules:
-No bread pudding.
-No surf and turf.
-No restaurants in BFE.
-New (to me) restaurants only.
Points for:
-Pork Belly
-Desserts that I cannot make myself.
-Entrees that I cannot (or won't) make myself.
I read over a hundred menus and decided on....Kachina.
Kachina has a stupid name, it's a world of cultural appropriation. That was more than enough to keep me from it before. It's in a hotel, it gets odd reviews. I love SouthWestern food but I have Tocabe right over there and it costs 2/3rds less. (oh lord, Tocabe)
Kachina was really really good. It's a fancy Tocabe. The courses were perfectly sized. Navajo Tacos, Bison and huitlacoche Tamales, rellenos, frisee lime and bean salad, Mexican chocolate filled beignets with caramel sauce.
Full tea service. That was just what I had.
The bison tamales came on a Dim Sum style "food truck" with tin art and a bicycle bell on it. LOVED it!
We sat next to a lovely couple from Scotland via Vancouver and we discussed traveling for much of the evening.
If they changed the name and removed the few dolls it would be perfect (and hired an actual Navajo to make the fry bread). Would eat at again.
