I got an invite this morning to go to a pool party tomorrow! A pool party with booze, and bbq, and noms, and deviled eggs, and cookies, AND A JUMPY CASTLE!!!
I think I FINALLY get to go to a jumpy castle party. Someone's having a party, and they actually invited me!
Best day ever you think.

Then, I finally went to the podiatrist to see why my right foot is swollen and sometimes swells.
The doctor says MY FOOT IS BROKEN! http://medical-definitions.com/fracture/sesamoid-fracture.htm
I have a soft shoe cast.
There will be no swimming, biking, martial arts, and especially NO JUMPY CASTLES for a whole month.

Guys, I am crying buckets right now. I will never ever get to jumpy castle.

Oh. and my foot probably won't heal. Ever. Which is fine, it'll just sort of hurt forever.

It might be better for my birthday. I expect a jumpy castle for my birthday dammit.

I want a bouncy castle, too! We should make this happen.

If you can take the cast off, I say go and have fun at the jumpy castle pool party, then be Extra Good about keeping it on for the next month. If you've been walking around on it this long, one more day really isn't going to make that much more difference. Just try to land more on the other foot when you go in the bouncy castle.

Yes, I can take it off.

Given how much better my foot feels in the cast, I'm disinclined to remove it.
Sometimes you don't realize you've been experiencing shooting pain until it stops.

Argh!

(I have a friend hereabouts who keeps talking about wanting to rent a tiny bouncy castle for a party inside his apartment.)

I have been to those parties and they are the second best parties ever. Do it. Bouncy castles are not that expensive.

Man, I feel like the world is conspiring against you to keep you out of jumpy castles.

That's the same fracture that my roommate has. I've been ferrying her around so she can keep her weight off it as much as possible. My sympathies entirely... it seems like it's got to suck. Best of luck healing and getting to jumpy castledom.

When did it start? Early healing is particularly important with this... if it doesn't heal in the first 6 to 8 weeks, yeah, usually a much longer course of treatment. So the sooner you caught it, the better your odds of healing quickly.

I think I broke it at least 6 months ago.
When it initially swelled, I thought it was arthritis. It didn't hurt THAT bad. I stayed off of it for a week, RICE, and it was fine. It's just sort of ached here and there for awhile since then, but I ache everywhere you know? But at kickboxing I figured something was actually wrong with it.

My doctor doesn't think it will heal, but no harm in trying. The cast feels good. I guess I can wear the cast forever.
