Yoga makes ow

*poke* *poke* "My ribs hurt right here. And they are swollen. Really hurt."
"Is it on the ends between your ribs?"
"Yes."
"You separated the tissue between your ribs. It's a common yoga injury. It'll take awhile to heal."
"Good times that yoga."

I only went once!

Brian has found himself single again so I invited him over last night for drinking and stories. He brought his own beer. We distracted each other for awhile with tales of all the trouble our friends have gotten themselves into lately.

You separated the tissue between your ribs. It's a common yoga injury.

O.O

Um, I'm thinking probably not so much. That would be a muscle tear. I'm thinking an intercostal muscle strain (or overstretch) would be much more likely.

Brian is a really good man. I'm glad he's got such a good friend in you! :)

Ow! Sounds like you may have overdone it! People frequently feel sore for a day after yoga, but swelling is not normal -- hope it eases off and mends quickly. Part of the process of learning how to practise yoga poses is finding out what level of intensity to work at, unfortunately there is a bit of trial and error involved.
