I fed the office

The husband of one of the ladies in my office is allergic to beans, so she doesn't get beans much. I gave her a jar of my Ham and Bean Soup. She followed me around today, "What's in your ham and bean soup? I LOVED it!"
"Thank you. Ham and beans... a sock of some sort possibly....wine..."
"Fennel?"
"I don't remember fennel."
"What spice?"
"I don't know. I never make the same food twice."
She kept after me like I was lying to her.

One of the assistants and I were discussing cheese before lunch. I mentioned the Humboldt Fog in my lunch sack.
"Ohhhhh......"
"Want some?"
"YES! PLEASE!"
I made him a fruit and cheese plate with persimmons, blood oranges, sourdough bread, Humboldt Fog and a Gruyère. He was amazed. Other people bring freezer meals for lunch.
I think he'll take good care of my plants while I'm gone.

I made the same plate up for my boss and I but added bowls of hominy chili. Sooo goood.

I would follow you around if you fed me any of those things...

I feel so au courant; I now know what Humboldt Fog is as I was looking online for a particular cheese with ash in it last week. Humboldt Fog looks unnervingly like a cake, although I'm hoping to try it some time.

This despite the fact that cheese is so not my friend...

Yum. The person who can understands food and can prepare it lives better than the person who can't.

"...a sock of some sort"? Heh.

"A sock of some sort" reminded me of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie. :P

Hominy.chili.?? I've only ever used hominy in one dish that I make, which is one my mom always makes for holiday dinners. And I loooove Pozole. Could I get a recipe-ish maybe? :)
