This thing annoys me

Like a mosquito.

One of [livejournal.com profile] randomdreams relatives is often harping about how he, "Needs a cell phone. Must carry ID when out bike riding. Must wear Road ID/Medic Alert bracelet. Must go to doctor to get that heart issue looked at. YOU HAVE TO!"

I get roped into it, "Wouldn't you want someone to call you if he got hit by a car? Wouldn't you care if he died from the heart thing? OMG he's stuck in traffic and can't call and say he's late!"

Look lady, clearly in your relationship it's fine for you to go around making demands of other people. In mine, it's not. Which means we almost never hurl around statements like, "YOU HAVE TO!" irregardless of the others potential death. So no, I'm not going to badger him about his own personal freedoms. And your badgering is annoying. Please discuss children's literature or somesuch.

My, I am posty.

You know, when you two started dating, your lack of badgerment about his own personal freedoms was one of the first things I liked about you.

It is still a FINE TRAIT. *hugs*

While it is a good idea for randomdreams to do those things, it's not really up for anyone but him to decide. Plus, I am not sure that riding a bikle fast and furious while speaking on a cell phone is /more/ safe than not... Still, maybe a little "please call if found" tag might be nice... But, again, it's his call not anyone else's now that he's all growed up
