I had a friend who was sort of experimenting in alternative communications. For a few weeks he talked through his finger puppet "FingerHorse," some people were horribly annoyed. Me, I thought it was the best thing ever. Later he would go a month without speaking to anyone.

When I practiced medicine, I would talk to children with finger puppets, then let them play with them while I looked at their eyes. Adults poking at your eyes is scary.
