threemeninaboatSomehow having free time today I went to the antique store looking for cool old jars for my lentils. No jars, but I found an adorable airplane watercolor painting for John for $7.
Today was my first attempt at asafoedita usage. Yes, it smells really bad. I think it made the food taste like laundry detergent. Will try again later. It manifests as a brick of resin. Very hard to extract 1/4t. Will chuck it into my spice grinder.
Speaking of which, after 5 years, my spice grinder (actually a coffee grinder) has not quite died, but the plastic top has cracked and has not long to live. It's a Hamilton Beach. Any grinder suggestions?
