I remember doing a similar thing when I was a kid. We picked a bunch of azaleas and went door to door selling them as food. We'd take turns eating them at each house and sold a suprising amount considering how awful they tasted. We did perfume too, by mixing crushed snakeberries with water (in an old metal pipe buried for horseshoes). The perfume didn't smell that great, but mysteriously, it was also a top-seller. It's all in the branding.
