It's snowing here today, a nice day to spend in the kitchen.
We're re-doing the kitchen soon and it would be nice to have a least a few meals a week be already made.
[livejournal.com profile] crossfire reminded me that curry freezes well.
Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., with a short break to go to the grocery store, I made for the deep freezer:

Black eyed peas with mushrooms
Chickpeas with mango powder
Tea and ginger chickpeas
Spicy Lentils
Tart red lentils
Yellow peas with raisins, cashews, and coconut
Broccoli and carrots with black lentils
Turkey-bacon chili
Thai coconut pumpkin soup (I think this was the best)
Venison chili
Chicken Beer White hominy chili

It was actually pretty easy. I cooked the beans and lentils while I prepped all the onions and ginger and grocery store. Since Indian mostly has a similar base you just dump the food in the baggie, rinse the pan, and go again. Everything's only half cooked, the microwave will take care of the rest.

We'll get a rice cooker, and used the bread machine for its intended purpose.

Now to clean the kitchen.....
