This Olde House
Sunday, July 1st, 2012 03:08 pmSince we had to frame in the new window in my studio, we've been working on restoring the rest of that space. The knotty pine sills were dried, but not split, so they needed new stain. The cabinets had speckles of paint on them from the previous owners shoddy paint job. The walls were mustard yellow. My drapes would no longer fit.
randomdreams attacked the speckles with his brutally dangerous wood chisel. He got really into it. I painted the walls, shampooed the carpet, and stained the sills.
I wanted to touch up my burnt orange shelf. I grabbed the can of burnt orange paint and shook it. Orange paint made a graceful arc across the hallway floor. I looked at Lillian and said, "Stay." I dropped the can in the sink and yelled out at the Hut, "I NEED YOU NOW!" Paint has been drying in seconds.
randomdreams took the rug out and hosed it off under the back patio, I scrubbed the floor. By the time
randomdreams got to the opposite end of the rug a few spots had dried in. This is a rug-by-foot, so not too bad.
It's coming along.
