I found these at TJ Max for $20, but the soles were so slippery I thought they'd been covered in PAM.
I took them to my cobbler.
"Take them back."
"Nooooo! You can fix them! You do magic!"
"Wellll I'll have to replace the heel... and maybe sandpaper might help... maybe. It'll be expensive."
*raises eyebrow*

They are now mega grippy. So sticky I was pulling gravel out of their new grooves.
I thanked him again for re-heeling my black leather knee high boots last winter and saving me a hip replacement.
