It was a purple day at the thrift store
Sunday, February 26th, 2012 05:30 pmA few days ago I found this purple velvet Apt. 9 jacket at the thrift store for $3.50. It was wrinkled and the cuffs were dirty.

I threw it in the washing machine cold/cold/gentle. I doused it with wrinkle release and brushed it with a lint brush. Lint brushes are great for lint and straightening out velvets and suede.
That blinding Rocky Mountain sun and brisk wind dried it right out.
I also found this scarf from Japan for $4. John translated the label as "100% Rayon" but it's really crapey. It seems more like something to frame rather than wear. I might make a piece of art inspired by it.
