Why are new albums only 30mumble minutes?

So I was listening to the new Beirut, which is cool but not as drunk as previous, and I was super disappointed to find it was only 34 minutes. Like back when we made tapes that would fit on one side of a tape! Only punk bands did that!
Like Big Black's Atomizer is 37:37 minutes long and damn does one ever feel fucked after that one.
Tool's albums are all monsterous.

I put on Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar while I was painting and that anger never ends. You could paint all day if you had enough middle fingers.

Oh hey... Saul Williams has a new album out.... 13 tracks... I'll go check that out...
