Snow Day with Pit Bull and Bunnies
Thursday, December 30th, 2010 08:04 pmWe were supposed to drive down to Colorado Springs to spend time with
maribou and
birdmojo, but it snowed. They closed the highway right after we canceled so we made the right call.
We went out for pizza and a red velvet cupcake, then sat in front of the fire and read. The dog started getting antsy, a good sign that it's time to teach a trick. We try to teach her a new one every winter.
I recently saw on the bunny community that one girl taught her rabbit to spin in a circle. I tried to teach Lillian (my pit bull) to spin. Lillian isn't a stupid dog, she just doesn't like to learn new tricks, she doesn't like doing her current tricks most of the time either. We ran through it a few times and she gets it half way. We'll try again later.
I also have two bunnies. Pirate was not hand raised, we don't even think he knows his name. Gir is very intelligent and is comfortable around people. I wondered if she would get the Spin trick faster.
"Gir? Would you like a raisin?" She hopped over and I moved the raisin around her and said, "Spin." She hopped in a circle following the raisin.
"Want another raisin?" I started moving the raisin around her right, she hopped left into the bowl of raisins, stole a few, and hopped off. Beaten by a bunny.
