We went to the Lakewood Cider Festival.
Cider (hard and normal), they make it right in front of you. Tractor pulls, strange old engines and machines, old cars, petting zoo. Apple pie contest. Apple fritters.

I bought a few pound of local organic Jonathans, they are soooo good.

A couple was using hand-cranked corn de-kerneler to strip the kernels off feed corn. They dumped in into a LOUD gas powered grinder thing and corn meal came out the other end. I gave them a dollar for a sack of corn meal. I'll make corn bread tonight.

Me: "HAVE YOU MADE THE BED IN THERE OR ARE YOU TWO JUST SLEEPING IN A PILE OF UNMADENESS?

We needed to haul a bunch of junk to the thrift store. Old tape decks and junk that was here with the house when we moved in and some clothes that I can no longer jam my jugs into.
You can't go to the thrift store and just drop things off! You have to go in!
Today was 50% off everything. We got 3 pairs of neat cargo pants for work (one needs a button but that gives me a chance to use a really cool button), 6 books, and one hub thingy for $15.
But we dropped off more than we brought home.

In other news, we have mice again.
I've made a make shift wine cellar until the real one gets built. The wine has been getting out of hand and ought to be stored properly.


No fox sightings, but something's eating the food we're leaving out.
