Bar Tartine. The picture of the woman with the pig leg is amazing.

Kill My Mother: A Graphic Novel. Great drawings and a good story.

Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. His young adult can be a solid miss for me, but this was splendid.

Etta and Otto and Russell and James. What was real?

Broken Monsters. A lot of Bret Easton Ellis, a lot of (good) Chuck Palahniuk. Great characters. The end was a little out there.

Marina struck me as the book in which he was testing the waters for Shadows. Lots of similarities, with just enough differences to be differently-good (if that makes sense). I agree in regards to his young adult.
