Growing up, my mom always called it Johnny Smart. I never knew other people ate this dish until I found it in the Cooking with Coolio book (yes, Coolio has his own cookbook) labeled Chili Mac Pimpin'. Uncle Mark said that when he was a an army chef this was the most popular dish with the soldiers, and was served with a side of steamed broccoli.
Chili Mac
Cooked pasta garlic and onions ground meat can of tomatoes beans spices (cumin, oregano, chili powder, fines herbs) S&P grated cheese (maybe sour cream)
Start your salty water for your pasta. Make pasta while making chili.
Sweat your onions and garlic. Add meat to brown. When meat is browned add tomatoes and beans and spices. Heat. Add S&P. Combine chili with pasta. Plate. Add grated cheese over the top. Maybe sour cream.
You can use whatever is in the fridge: corn, hominy, avocado, corn chips, peppers, cabbage....
Sure!
