These photos aren't fantastic.
The curtain rods are hung badly (came with the house), something I'll remedy when I paint next summer, until then, the curtains hang oddly and too high. Whatever, so does everything else around here.
They are supposed to be pretty short, as my rolls of paper go under there. The studio will get prettier after I paint and get real shelves, but for now it's More Better.

Time: 3 hours
Curtain fabric: $33
Yarn: Free (Anthropologie wrapping)
Sparklies: 15 cents each (Pier One clearance & family discount).

I bought this watercolor

from Dilkabear 2 years ago for $15. Now she's featured on My Modern Metropolis! I am so proud of her!

I visited the warm pool today. It was kinda strange. My guide kept alluding to "your injuries." I have no idea. Maybe because I was the only person there under 50, I must be broken to need the warm pool.
That pool is waaaayyy too small for laps, not designed for laps, and I would just be splashing the very old people. Damn kids in the pool. I watched the Cardio Class for a bit, I think I'm a little too boisterous. No one actually "swam."

There's another pool very close by dedicated to lap swimming, it costs about 1/3rd as much, but it's not "warm." I'll go over tomorrow and see if it's unbearable.

I painted my art table black, I'll go do a second coat after dinner.

Tomato Tart

I didn't want to make dinner, but I didn't want to go out, and wasn't even in the mood for burrito night. I know tomatoes aren't in season, but I'm tired of squash, and this is mostly a vehicle for cheese.

Tomato Tart, adapted from The Tomato Cookbook

Preheat oven 375.
-1 pie crust, or you can make your own.
-3 roma tomatoes, sliced lengthwise
-Olives. The green ones might not work well, but the black ones are fine, or whatever.
-Cheese. I used herbed goat, but it's hard to think of one that wouldn't be good. Even havarti dill.
-3/4c milk
-2 eggs
-herbs
-s&p

Put your pie crust in your pie pan or tart pan.
Layer the tomatoes on the bottom.
Toss some olives around. Layer cheese over. Beat together eggs, milk, herbs, and s&p and pour over pie.
Bake 40-50m (until set!).
Serve with a salad.

This is REALLY good and very fast and easy. I know it will be even better when the tomatoes and herbs are from the garden, but I won't want to fire up the oven then.

You could probably swap out the tomatoes and olives with anything: Zucchini and Eggplant, Fennel and Mushrooms. Mushrooms Mushrooms Snake. Meat from 2 animals.
